Profit
was targeted to upgrading the Taradale Play
Centre.
This auction was referred to at the time as
the "Sale of Redundant Goods" project,
because most of the items offered came from retailers who gave goods they
were having difficulty in moving off their shelves. A
percentage of all sales had to be returned to them, which
meant a huge amount of paperwork was necessary to keep track of each sale.
Rain
threatened this Auction, and retailers agreed to a late shift stalls into the main
street under the verandas- then the sun came out. After that the Club never
had a wet auction. |
